Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed into law the State VAT Bill as passed by the House of Assembly.
This was disclosed in a terse statement by Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso on Friday.
“The Governor signed the “bill for a law to impose and charge VAT on certain goods and services” at about 11. 45am today, after returning from an official trip to Abuja,” Omotoso said in the statement.
“By this act, the Bill has now become a Law.”
Recall that the state house of assembly had on Thursday, September, 9th, 2021, members passed the VAT Bill, 2021 and sent it to Mr. Governor for assent into law.
