Controversial investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has taken to her social media page to make an announcement to her fans and followers. Olunloyo revealed that her career as a digital journalist would end on Wednesday, December 30. According to her, she will be taking off a one-year medical leave as a result of her health.
She has revealed she decided to go for a break and return to cover the elections in 2023 but changed her mind.
The journalist noted that despite sharing information with Nigerians for free, people did not stop soiling her name which made her lose so many opportunities, and it affected her mental health. She said: "I am mentally and physically weak. A foot surgery, a vulnerable immune system with COVID-19 out there, and 50% PTSD recovery, I have finally decided to leave digital journalism." She, however, urged her true fans to stay in touch with her through her Instagram DM.
She then announced that she has closed all her verified accounts on social media.
She wrote;
“All my Journalism verified accounts are now CLOSED on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. YouTube.com/KemiOlunloyoTV is still open. What’sapp also deleted and phone contacts deleted. Thank you for the memories during this last decade and 25-30 yrs. I miss all my fans during my Journalism days in Nigeria ?? I will only be serving God leading the youth to Jesus in 2020.
